Multiple Programs – CRYPTS.DLL

Crypts.dll installs with AxCrypt, a file encryption utility by Axantum. AxCrypt File Encryption works with Windows 98/ME/NT/2K/XP and offers AES-128 File Encryption, Compression and transparent Decryption. You'll find more information at http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/.

Crypts.dll will be found in your Windows\System or System32 folder. It installs with Downloader-BAR, a trojan can download and execute malicious files without your permission. It also uploads information about your system (CPU, OEM identifier, OS Version, IP address, Uptime, Running Processes) to a remote web server. If you have the malicious instance of this file, we'd recommend removal using WinPatrol. First, kill it under Active Tasks then remove it from your IE Helpers. If running WinPatrol 8.x or later, right click the file then select "Delete file on Reboot". Finally, reboot your system.
