Creative Control Panel – CTXFIHLP.EXE

Files called ctxfispi.exe, ctxfihlp.exe, and ctxfireg.exe install with your SoundBlaster and Audigy sound cards. These files are necessary to support Creative Technologies' Control Panel application. If the control panel is running, ctxfispi.exe can also control the volume control icon in your system tray. If you use the Creative Control Panel, leave these files in place.

Some users running Windows XP SP2 report problems with ctxfispi.exe taking over all available system resources or causing the system to hang on shutdown. Creative recommends a driver update.
