DVD Update Utility – DVDCHECK.EXE

A utility called dvdcheck.exe installs with the InterVideo or HP DVD software that comes with your DVD writer. Consequently you'll find this file in your c:\Program Files\InterVideo\DVD Check\ or in your c:\Program Files\HP\HP DVD\Umbrella\ folder. This file automatically checks for firmware updates for your DVD drive.

Some users report having successfully removed this file. If you should opt to do so, use WinPatrol to "disable" it under your Startup Programs. That way, if problems develop, you can easily re-enable the file.
