HP CD/DVD Writer – TFSWCTRL.EXE
Tfswctrl.exe is the packet writing software used to write data to your Hewlett Packard or Veritas CD or DVD Rom drives. HP and Veritas drives come with a program called "DLA" which stands for "Direct Letter Access". It allows you to write files (from Windows Explorer or any application) to a CD or DVD just as if it was a hard drive.
If you have a combo CD/DVD drive, you'll need to leave this file in place. It will be most convenient to let it run on system startup. If you remove it, you won't be able to read or access CD/DVDs in this drive.
Some users report that this file can cause shutdown problems on some XP systems. Earlier versions of this software aren't compatible with Windows XP SP2. You'll find an updated version at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc;=us&docname;=c00242757.
