Wscript.exe is the executable for the Windows Scripting Host. When the command "wscript // b" is used, the script host runs in batch mode. Windows Script is a comprehensive scripting infrastructure for the Microsoft Windows platform. Windows Script provides two script engines, Visual Basic Scripting Edition and Microsoft JScript, which can be embedded into Windows Applications. It also provides an extensive array of supporting technologies that makes it easier for script users to script Windows applications. The windows scripting host has been a part of the Windows operating system since Windows 95 release 2.

Because it is possible to launch wscript.exe from a web page, this file is often associated with viruses. If you use Windows scripting, we'd recommend an antivirus program or firewall. It's somewhat unlikely that there's a legitimate reason for wscript //b to be running on your system all the time. If you're running it intentionally for a particular purpose you're aware of, you can consider it safe. If you have no idea what it's doing there, consider disabling it under your Startup Programs.
