Adobe Acrobat Browser Helper – AcroIEHelper.ocx, AcroIEHelper.dll

AcroIEHelper.ocx and AcroIEHelper.dll install with the 32-bit versions of the Adobe Reader (formerly called the Acrobat Reader). This free reader can be used to read Adobe Acrobat .PDF (portable document format) files. This file format is widely used to present information with a layout that doesn't change based upon the program or platform you're using to view it. It is often seen as the virtual equivalent of print media.

Both the .dll and the .ocx file are needed to let you view PDF files within your browser window. With all the .PDF formatted files on the web these days, we'd recommend against removing these files. If you click on a .PDF file in your browser and find that the Adobe reader takes too long to start up, you may want to enable the Adobe Reader Speed Launcher. If .PDF files aren't opening within your browser, open the Adobe Reader, select Edit > Preferences. Click "Intenet" then check "Display PDF in Browser".
