eMusic Toolbar – ALOT.DLL

Alot.dll and emusic_standalone.exe install with the ALOT eMusic Toolbar. You'll generally find it in a folder called c:\Program Files\alot\bin\. These files install with the ALOT eMusic Discovery Toolbar. This toolbar offers a search of the eMusic catalog, one free MP3 download per day, access to the eMusic Radio stations, and Music Alerts & RSS feeds. The eMusic website has dabbled in Adware and is classified as such by Symantec. You'll find more information at http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2006-041316-3121-99. If you no longer want to use this toolbar, you can remove these files from your Startup Programs and IE Helpers using WinPatrol or you can follow the Uninstall instructions at http://www.alot.com/toolbar/uninstall/.
