Multiple Files – ASYCFILT.DLL, ASYCFILT.EXE
Asycfilt.dll is a legitimite OLE file from Microsoft. Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) is a part of your Windows operating system and is used by many Windows applications including Microsoft Office. You should leave this file in place. Windows XP users should get this update: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id;=826.
Asycfilt.exe installs with Adware.azesearch, the Azesearch Toolbar. An executable called download.exe may also appear on your system. These files may appear in a sub-folder of your "Documents and Settings" folder (Windows 95/NT/98/ME/2000/XP) or your c:\users folder (Windows Vista/Windows 7). You may see azesearch.dll called "ZToolbar Activator Class". This program can hijack your web searches to its controlling server. We'd recommend removing these files using WinPatrol. First, go to your Active Tasks and kill the files there. You'll also want to kill any of these files that you find there: azesearch.ocx, azesearch3.ocx, azesearch2.ocx azesearch.dll, azesearch2.dll, mwsearch.dll, and msearch.dll. Next, go to your IE Helpers and Startup Programs and remove the files there. If running WinPatrol 8.x or later; right click each file then select "Delete file on Reboot".
