Symantec Event Manager Service - CCSVCHST.EXE

Ccsvchst.exe will appear in your c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ folder. It is the Symantec Event Manager (ccEvtMgr) service. This file installs with Norton Antivirus, Norton Personal Firewall, and Norton Internet Security version 2003 or later. ccEvtMgr stands for "Common Client Event Manager". It logs all activity including virus alerts, application activities and errors to a log file. Please do not remove this file. It is needed for these programs to work properly.

In Norton Internet Security, this file can be viewed by picking Options then Internet Security then "Log Viewer".

In Norton AntiVirus the log can be viewed from the main control panel by clicking Reports, then Activity Log, then View Report.
