Multiple Programs – DIVXUPDATE.EXE
Divxupdate.exe found in your c:\Program Files\DivX\ folder is the DivX updater that installs with the DivX Plus Player, Converter, and Codec Pack as well as the DivX Plus Web Player. Users complain that this file runs in the background consuming system resources even after they've turned it off via the DivX Control Panel. The author, DivX Labs, suggests checking "Never" in the control panel then kill the process using Task Manager or WinPatrol. Immediately reboot your system. If this doesn't work, use WinPatrol to Disable or Remove it from your Startup Programs. A fix is promised in the next version of the program. You'll find more information at http://labs.divx.com/node/15564.
If you have divxupdate.exe running from your Windows System or System32 folder, you may have a variant of Worm.AutoRun.DHA. You'll find more information at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/divxupdate.exe-23999.html and at http://www.pctools.com/mrc/infections/id/Worm.Autorun.DHA/. We'd recommend removing this file using WinPatrol. First, kill it under Active Tasks then remove it from your Startup Programs. To do so, right click the file then select "Delete file on Reboot". Finally, reboot your system then check to make sure the file is really gone.
