GoogleDesktopnetwork3.dll installs with Google Desktop Search, version 2 or later. Files called googledesktop.exe, googledesktopcrawl.exe, googledesktopindex.exe, googledesktopoe.exe or googledesktopie.dll will also appear on your system. Google Desktop Search will let you search files on your system just as you would search for web pages on the Internet. It can search email, files, web history, chat logs, cached web pages, Outlook/Outlook Express, AOL/AIM logs, text files, Word documents, Excel Spreadsheets and Workbooks and PowerPoint presentations. If you use Google Desktop Search, then leave this file in place. If not, the entire program is small and easy to remove via Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Recently Google has gotten criticism about this program making personal information viewable by others. They responded saying that it is only meant to be used on a single-user system.
