Virus Alert – HP-1003.EXE

A file called hp-1003.exe will be found in your Windows\System or System32 folder. It installs with the Win32/Rbot.FAN worm. This worm runs on system startup and can allow a remote user to access your system via an IRC chat channel. This user could download, install, run or delete files and could browse the web apparing to be you. This worm may also attempt to steal personal information. We'd recommend removing this file using WinPatrol. First, kill it under Active Tasks then remove it from your Startup Programs. If running WinPatrol 8.x or later, right click the file then select "Delete file on Reboot". Finally, reboot your system.
