Multiple Programs – ITK.EXE
We found multiple programs that installed files called itk.exe.
Itk.exe is the executable for Insert ToggleKey, a small Windows-based utility from Mike Lin that sounds a tone whenever you press the Insert key on your keyboard. More information can be found at http://www.mlin.net/misc.shtml.
Itk.exe also installs with "In The Know", a keylogging program that records what you do on your computer. If this program has legitimate uses such as tracking your kids or employees activities. If intentionally installed for this purpose, the file is completely safe. More information can be found at http://www.itksoft.com/index.asp. Unfortunately this type of program can also be installed without your knowledge by a malicious user trying to get passwords, credit card umbers, etc. So if you don't know what it's doing on your system, we'd recommend removing this file using WinPatrol. First, kill it under your Active Tasks then remove it from your Startup Programs and/or IE Helpers. If running WinPatrol 8.x or later; right click the file then select "Delete file on Reboot". Finally, reboot your system.
Safe if Intentionally Installed
