Microsoft HTML Edit Functions – MSHTMLED.DLL

Mshtmled.dll is a library file that contains interface functions used for editing HTML (web) pages. When viewing a web page in Internet Explorer, you can select "View" from the top menu then select "Source" to open the HTML source code in Windows Notepad or other default HTML editor. This file installs with all versions of your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. If you run WinPatrol 2008, you may see this file in your ActiveX tab. We'd recommend leaving this file in place even if you never edit HTML as removing it could result in browser crashes. A file called mshtml.dll will also appear on your system. This file absolutely must be left in place.

Internet Explorer 6 may stop responding, and you may receive an error message when you dynamically remove an HTML element from a Web page. You'll find more information and a fix at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896156/.
