SoundBlaster Audigy – MTDACQU.EXE

Mtdacqu.exe installs with SoundBlaster Audigy and Audigy 2 cards by Creative Technology, Ltd. It is described as a "metadata monitor" and will probably be found in your c:\program files\creative\shared files\media sniffer folder. We found numerous references to adding this driver to a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 card to 'turn it into an Audigy'.

This file is not absolutely required for SBLive or Audigy cards. If you feel that it improves the quality of your sound, leave it in place. If not, you can remove it using WinPatrol. You'll find the latest drivers for your SoundBlaster card at http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/.
