Mersenne Prime Search – PRIME95.EXE

Prime95.exe installs with the GIMPS Distributed Computing Client. GIMPS stands for "Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search". The project looks for Mersenne Prime Numbers. If you have this file running on your system, it means that you've agreed to donate unused CPU time to the project. The program uses about 8MB of memory and about 10MB of disk space.
