HP MediaSmart SmartMenu – SMARTMENU.EXE

Smartmenu.exe comes installed on most HP Laptop and some Desktop and All in One systems. The HP MediaSmart SmartMenu enables users to switch between MediaSmart applications, such as DVD, music, pictures (photos), video, and TV. To use the HP MediaSmart SmartMenu, users press the MediaSmart button (button labeled "M" that is located at the top of the keyboard area above the regular keyboard keys) to display the SmartMenu. We've seen numerous complaints of SmartMenu eating up system memory and resources. If this is happening on your system and if you don't access media frequently, you may opt to disable this file in your Startup Programs.
