InstallShield Engine – IDRIVERT.EXE

Idrivert.exe is part of the InstallShield program, a very common program used to install or uninstall software.

Specifically, Idrivert.exe is the InstallShield Install Driver Table Manager. It is required on a computer to run some installations created with InstallShield. Idrivert.exe is located in c:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver\1050\Intel 32\IDriverT.exe. Some installation error messages may reference idrivert.exe.

If you have this file running on your system, it's possible that you haven't rebooted since installing a program or that programs installation may not have completed normally. Try rebooting your system.

If this file still appears in your Active Tasks, Startup Programs and Services, this could be due to an anomoly with an iTunes installation. Apple's iTunes 5.x installed this file as a service that doesn't appear to be necessary. Users report no problems with iTunes after using WinPatrol to disable this file. If you'd like to give it a try, click on your Services tab, double click this file then change the Startup Type from "Automatic" or "Manual" to "Disabled".
