First I would again like to thank all our PLUS members for supporting WinPatrol
and making it possible for so much of this summer to be devoted to WinPatrol improvements.
I am especially grateful to those in the press who have spread the word about our little program.
Your recommendations have made Scotty the Windows Watch Dog popular and have saved a lot of frustration for those who discovered WinPatrol in time.
This special preview version is primarily for our PLUS members and others who have been
providing valuable feedback. Brand new WinPatrol users should enjoy the benefits of WinPatrol 7.0.1.0 available on our
main web page.

Here are just some of the changes you'll find...

As we continued to add so many new features to WinPatrol it quickly became apparent that Scotty may
be getting a little too chubby and slower then we'd like. We've separated the old program into two separate applications
while keeping the easy to use familiar interface in place. A smaller robust, Winpatrol.exe continues to monitor and guard critical areas on your system
and will alert you to any changes. Clicking on the Scotty task bar icon will launch WinPatrolEx.exe
which provides the familiar tabbed interface. Changes made here will be reflected in both programs.

WinPatrol 8.0 allows you to monitor file types and be alerted if a program makes a change to these settings.
This feature has a dual purpose. Especially dangerous programs or virus's may change the program associated with executable programs like
EXE's or Scripts like .JS or JavaScripts. You may also run into well meaning programs who without asking make themselves
the default programs for JPG's or other media programs. WinPatrol will make sure you keep the settings
you want.

When you're going crazy and you can't get rid of some stubborn menace right-click on the title and select
"Delete File on Reboot". The next time you reboot the file will be deleted before Windows starts and any other
program tries to interfere.

As announced before release WinPatrol users have request more support for non-IE browsers.
While Mozilla Firefox includes better cookie support than IE, you can now use WinPatrol Nuts to
automatically filter out unwanted cookies. The cookie window is now resizable.

Scotty now remembers where you left your Windows. When you bring up a new WinPatrol screen Scotty
will place it where you last left it. Scotty will also remember when you sort any columns.

Exit your current WinPatrol before running the new wpsetup.exe!
We recommend you install this new version in the same folder you're currently using and preserve your settings. Depending on your current WinPatrol will automatically detect that you're a PLUS member. If you do need your registration number just Email support@winpatrol.com and include the name you used to register.
