The WinPatrol program was officially copyrighted and released to the public on November 19th, 1997. Since that time the free release of this program has quietly garnered a loyal following of user in the US and many other countries. News of the usefulness of WinPatrol spread through word of mouth and computer newsletters.

By now WinPatrol could have been a household word however our company is strictly a development house and not a software publisher. BillP Studios primary business is to create custom software on demand and does not have its own PR firm or distribution channels. Thus WinPatrol has remained a cult favorite in the computer security world.

We believe strongly in WinPatrol as do many of our users who have caught dangerous computer Trojan horses and worms. As such we’d like to see WinPatrol in the hands of someone who can bring it’s functionality to the rest of the world.

Our plan is to use E-bay to auction the rights and assets to WinPatrol. This will include our WinPatrol.com domain, full source code in Microsoft C and use of the WinPatrol name and image.


International Possibilities

Over the last couple years we’ve noticed that WinPatrol has a huge following outside the US. This year downloads of our German version have exceeded those of our English version. WinPatrol uses a unique language module that can be installed during setup. This module can easily accept other languages making it possible to extend its use in many other countries.
